SHSAT
● The SHSAT determines admission to NYC’s specialized high schools, which focus on advanced academics, STEM, humanities, and more.
● The test is available to:
- 8th graders seeking admission for 9th grade.
- 9th graders seeking admission for 10th grade (limited seats available).

Test Format
The SHSAT has two main sections:
● English Language Arts (ELA): Revising/Editing and Reading Comprehension with increasingly complex texts.
● Mathematics: Multi-step problems across arithmetic, algebra, geometry, data analysis, and probability.
SHSAT Prep Options
● SHSAT Skills Prep (6 Months):
Rigorous curriculum building advanced reading stamina, grammar/editing mastery, and multi-step math problem solving. Includes diagnostics, progress checks, and clear weekly study plans.
● SHSAT Crash Course (8 Weeks):
High-yield review, timing strategies, and targeted practice on the most frequently tested item types, plus full-length simulations.
● SHSAT 1:1 Intensive (Flexible):
Personalized plan (ELA-only, Math-only, or balanced) aligned to target schools and the student’s test date.

✅ Detail Recognition: Locate and interpret supporting details or evidence.
✅ Inference Making: Read between the lines to draw conclusions not explicitly stated.
